Day 4 — Favorite Gameworld?
I’ve DM’d a lot of great Dungeons & Dragons campaign settings (Blackmoor, Dragonlance, Forgotten Realms, Greyhawk, Mystara, Ravenloft), but I have always been more interested in homebrewed gaming worlds.
I’ve given birth to several, such as Kämälörne from my college years and the campaign world we’re currently involved in, Drakkarsys.
But my favorite is Enochia.
I developed Enochia in late 2012 as I prepared to DM what was supposed to be a one-off reunion of our old high school gaming group, the Oak Hill Dungeons & Dragons Club.
Many of us hadn’t gamed together in 30 years.
Enochia had everything I look for in a campaign world: a savage frontier, a fractured kingdom, sinister villains, and political intrigue.
That one-off reunion game turned into a monthly gathering and more, and Enochia carried us through our return to AD&D until we made the switch to 5th Edition and developed a new world to go along with it.
Tune in tomorrow as I elaborate further.
